Temporal Paradox

You said, “If you’d known me

earlier, your life wouldn’t have

been so miserable”

Maybe that’s true. Maybe it would be different –

all those years of anxiety and loneliness and

not believing in myself and everything I lost

because of that. Maybe I’d be another person.

A chartered accountant perhaps, with a

baby on the way. Maybe I’d be happy.

But maybe I wouldn’t have met you

in the first place.

So I’ll stick to this version of reality.

Time travel never turns out well anyway.
